Charles A. Claypool

Charles A. “Tad” Claypool of Springboro, Ohio, was re-elected to serve his second three-year term on the Shriners Hospitals for Children Board of Trustees during Shriners’ 2007 annual international convention – or Imperial Council Session – held in Anaheim, Calif., July 1-5. He served as Imperial Potentate (president and CEO of Shriners International) in 2002-2003. Claypool is the chairman of the Planning Committee and a member of the Salary and Personnel Committee.
Claypool is an attorney with the firm Douple, Beyoglides, Leve, Hansen, Claypool & Kovich in Dayton, Ohio. He received his bachelor’s degree from Ohio University, Athens, and his law degree from the University of Cincinnati in 1973. Claypool is a member of the Dayton Bar Association, the Ohio State Bar Association, the American Quarter Horse Association and the Ohio Association for Justice.
Claypool was raised a Master Mason at Rock Moriah Lodge #740 in 1970, is a 33rd-degree Scottish Rite Mason and a member of the York Rite. Claypool joined Antioch Shriners in 1970, and he served as the temple’s Potentate in 1990. He is also a member of the Royal Order of Jesters, Dayton Court #10, and various other fraternal bodies.
Claypool and his wife, Kay, have two children, Matthew and Aimee, and two grandchildren.
