Tom E. Leininger
Imperial Chaplain
Tom E. Leininger of Elkhart, Ind., is currently serving as Imperial Chaplain for Shriners of North America and Shriners Hospitals for Children. He was appointed by Imperial Potentate Bernard J. Lemieux, M.D., during the 2007 Imperial Council Session, held in Anaheim, Calif., July 1-5. Leininger was raised a Master Mason in Tyrian Lodge #718 and was created a noble of Orak Shriners in Michigan City. He graduated from Indiana University in Bloomington in June 1969 with a degree in business marketing and was commissioned the same month as a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. He attended naval flight school, received his wings in 1970, and flew military jets until discharged in May 1974. He then flew as a corporate pilot for 10 years, then as an airline pilot with Continental Airlines until 2005. He has retired as a captain and is enjoying retirement on his farm in Elkhart, Ind. Leininger and his wife have been married for 38 years and have three sons. |
