The Joint Commission Right of Notification of Safety or Quality Concern
We want to hear from you
Shriners Hospitals for Children (SHC) in the U.S. are accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission standards deal with hospital quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. SHC is committed to meeting Joint Commission standards in all these areas.
SHC has an open door policy. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about care received at the Shriners Hospitals for Children - Galveston, please contact: Carolyn Swann, Director of Performance Improvement at (409) 770-6675. If the issue is not resolved by the Hospital, you are always free to contact THe Joint Commission directly to raise your concerns. In addition, the Galveston Shriners Hospitals for Children will have unannounced surveys by Joint Commission approximately every three years to assess their compliance to the standards. Anyone believing that he/she has pertinent and valid information about such matters may contact The Joint Commission.
