To serve all the physical and emotional needs of burn-injured children, Shriners Hospitals for Children draws on the expertise of a multi-disciplinary team. Our active medical staff includes burn surgeons, anesthesiologists, pediatricians, a clinical psychiatrist, and plastic surgeons. In addition, we call on 38 consulting physicians in various medical, dental and surgical specialties, who are all affiliated with the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, University Hospital, and Cincinnati Children's Medical Center.

At the Shriners Hospitals specializing in burn care, experienced surgeons are skilled at using sheet skin grafts, resulting in greatly improved functional and cosmetic results. Shriners Hospitals' researchers have developed the optimal surgical technique for preserving the sight of infants who have sustained burns near the eyes. Our surgeons strive for early reconstruction of scar contractures, resulting in less trauma to joints and improved rehabilitation.
