Shriners Hospitals for Children in the U.S. are accredited by The Joint Commission. The Joint Commission's standards deal with hospital quality, safety-of-care issues, and the safety of the environment in which care is provided. Shriners Hospitals for Children is committed to meeting The Joint Commission standards in all these areas. Shriners Hospitals for Children has an open door policy. If you have any questions, comments or concerns about care received at our hospital, please discuss your concerns with the caregiver, department manager, hospital leadership or Terri Aiello, Director of Performance Improvement. You are always free to contact The Joint Commission directly to raise your concerns if they are unresolved by hospital staff. In addition, Shriners Hospitals for Children - Chicago will have an unannounced survey by the The Joint Commission every three years to assess their compliance to the standards
