Visiting Information
Our hospital strives to maintain the highest level of patient care, professionalism, cleanliness, and safety standards. In order to do so, we require these guidelines be followed:
1. Parents or guardians are welcome to visit 24 hours a day.
2. General visiting hours for other visitors are from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
3. All visitors are asked to register at the main lobby reception desk daily before coming to the unit.
4. Visitors under the age of 18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
5. Visitors must respect unit activities and leave the unit if requested by nursing personnel.
6. Visitors are asked to respect patient confidentiality.
7. All visitors must wash their hands when they enter the patient’s room and prior to leaving; nursing staff can share any additional infection control measures that may be necessary.
8. Latex (rubber balloons) are not permitted in the hospital. Patients may receive mylar balloons.
9. Live plants or cut flowers are not permitted in patient areas since they pose a risk for spreading germs.
10. Any food brought in must first be approved by the nursing staff before it can be given to a patient in case they have dietary restrictions.
11. There is a cafeteria on the 9th floor where visitors are welcomed to buy meals and snacks. Vending machines are available for snacks and drinks 24 hours per day.
12. Shriners Hospital is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is only permitted outside in the smoking shelter located behind the building.
