Expert Pediatric Burn Care
The Shriners Hospital for Children  Boston is a 30-bed pediatric hospital providing comprehensive acute, reconstructive and rehabilitative care to children who have burn injuries. There is no charge for the medical care or services provided by Shriners Hospitals. This hospital is one of 22 Shriners Hospitals throughout North America.

The Boston hospital is equipped and staffed to treat the following:

  • Acute burns
  • Non-burn conditions requiring wound care including: toxic epidermal necrolysis (TEN), staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome, abrasion/friction injuries, purpura fulminans, epidermolysis bullosa
  • Smoke inhalation injury
  • Reconstructive or restorative surgery as a result of “healed” burns
  • Severe scarring, resulting in contractures or interfering with mobility of the limbs
  • Scarring and deformity of the face
  • Congenital hairy nevi
  • Port wine stains and hemangiomas
